Conversations & Announcements (Questions 1–9)
🎧 Recording 1 — Dialogue (Social Media Use)
[Scene: A conversation between two secondary school students, Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua]
What problem does Xiao Ming mention about his social media use?
What did Xiao Hua's mother discover last month?
What maximum daily limit did Xiao Hua set for her social media use?
Give two benefits of social media that Xiao Ming mentions.
🎧 Recording 2 — Radio Broadcast (Cybersecurity)
[Scene: A radio programme segment on internet safety for young people]
According to the survey, what proportion of teenagers experienced cyberbullying in the past year?
The expert gives three pieces of advice for young people's online safety. Complete the grid below.

What action regarding photos may be illegal in many places?
Section B
Interview & Monologue (Questions 8–20)
🎧 Recording 3 — Interview (AI in Education)
[Scene: An interview with Dr. Wang, an education technology researcher]
By how much did the performance of students using AI-assisted learning improve on average?
Dr. Wang mentions two concerns about AI in education. State two of them.
How does Dr. Wang say teachers' roles need to change?
What does Dr. Wang say AI is, rather than the answer?
🎧 Recording 4 — Monologue (Digital Life)
[Scene: A young person, Fang Fang, talking about her digital life experiences]
Where does Fang Fang live?
What has Fang Fang used an AI programme to practise?
Fang Fang mentions two negative effects of technology on her health/wellbeing. State two.
Describe the experience that made Fang Fang concerned about her privacy.
What is Fang Fang's overall conclusion about technology?
🎧 Recording 5 — School Announcement (Digital Literacy Programme)
[Scene: A school principal making an announcement about a new programme]

Text 1 — Survey Report(調查報告)
How many teenagers were surveyed?

Text 2 — Informational Article(說明文)
Are the following statements True (T), False (F) or Not Given (NG) according to the text?

Give one example of AI already in ordinary people's daily lives, as mentioned in the article.
Text 3 — Online Discussion(網絡討論帖)

Speaking is assessed across three domains, each marked out of 20 (total 60 marks).
| Band | Marks | Communication (溝通能力) | Range & Accuracy (語言範疇及準確度) | Pronunciation & Fluency (發音及流利度) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 17–20 | Communicates all points with ease; develops ideas spontaneously; handles unexpected questions confidently | Wide range of vocabulary and structures; occasional minor errors do not impede communication; complex sentences attempted | Clear, natural pronunciation; very few hesitations; near-native fluency |
| 4 | 13–16 | Communicates most points effectively; can develop most ideas; some pausing but self-corrects | Good range; mostly accurate; some errors in complex structures; variety of tenses used | Generally clear; some hesitation; mostly correct tones; minor accent acceptable |
| 3 | 9–12 | Communicates basic points; some gaps; needs occasional prompting; limited development of ideas | Adequate range; noticeable errors but meaning usually clear; mainly simple structures | Intelligible; some hesitation and tonal errors; may require repetition |

Task 1 — Sample Answer (Band 4–5 level)
Sample Response — Photo Card
Task 3 — Sample Answer (General Conversation, Band 4–5 level)
Topic A — Sample Response to Q5
Section B — Translation: Model Answer [15 marks]
Model Translation
In recent years, artificial intelligence has developed rapidly, profoundly changing the way human beings live. From the voice assistants on smartphones to diagnostic systems in hospitals, artificial intelligence is now everywhere. However, while we enjoy the convenience brought by technology, we must also confront the challenges it brings. The protection of personal privacy, the impact on the job market, and how to ensure that artificial intelligence operates fairly and transparently are all important issues that our generation must face. Educating the next generation to have digital literacy and critical thinking is the fundamental approach to addressing these challenges.
Tasks 1 & 2 are marked for Content (内容), Language (語言), and Communication (表達). Tasks 3 & 4 are additionally assessed for the quality of argumentation and register.
| Band | Task 2 (15 marks) | Task 3/4 (25 marks) | Key Descriptors |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 13–15 | 21–25 | All bullet points addressed fully; wide range of vocabulary and structures; errors are minor and do not affect meaning; coherent and well-organised; appropriate register maintained throughout |
| 4 | 10–12 | 16–20 | Most bullet points addressed; good range; mostly accurate; some errors in complex structures; generally well-organised |
| 3 | 7–9 | 11–15 | Main points addressed; adequate range; noticeable errors; basic structure; meaning usually clear |
| 2 | 4–6 | 6–10 | Some points addressed; limited range; frequent errors; basic or no structure |
| 1 | 1–3 | 1–5 | Very few points addressed; very limited language; meaning often unclear |

你好!建議你睡前一小時放下手機,開啟屏幕使用限制,逐漸養成健康的生活習慣。
Note: Award 5 marks for a message that clearly addresses the problem (sleep disruption from short videos) and offers at least one concrete piece of advice. Deduct if register is inappropriate or message is off-topic.
Task 3 — Model Answer (Discursive Essay) — Full Text
Band 5 Model — approx. 240 characters
